Expected Conduct (Očekivano Ponašanje) \nAll participants are expected to uphold the spirit of Zajedništvo by: \nRespectful Communication (Uvijek S Poštovanjem): \nMaintain an animated and engaging\, yet diplomatic and courteous tone\, reflecting the Croatian communication style. Critique ideas and proposals\, not individuals. While passionate expression is valued\, refrain from personal attacks\, aggressive language\, or demeaning/discriminatory comments toward any person. Make eye contact as a sign of respect and politeness when addressing others. \nValuing All Voices and Wisdom (Poštovanje Prema Godinama i Raznolikosti): \nDemonstrate special respect for our elders and long-standing members (poštovanje prema starijima)\, recognizing their wisdom and historical perspective. Listen actively and refrain from dominating the conversation. Be mindful of others’ perspectives and ensure a diversity of voices are heard. Welcome new ideas and constructive criticism\, fostering a collaborative atmosphere. \nFocus on the Community’s Mission (Fokus na Naslijeđe): \nConduct all discussions with the primary goal of preserving and celebrating Croatian cultureand serving the best interests of the entire heritage community. Keep discussions relevant to the agenda items. While small talk and connection are important for building relationships\, manage time efficiently to complete the necessary business. \nAccountability and Integrity (Iskrenost i Odgovornost): \nAct with honesty and integrity in all matters. Disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect decision-making. \nIII. Meeting Protocols (Protokol Sastanka) \nPunctuality and Preparation: Arrive on time and review all pre-circulated materials. Decorum: All electronic devices should be set to silent. Avoid parallel work or checking messages unless necessary for the meeting’s function. Decision-Making: Respect the final decisions of the leadership body\, even if you voted against them. Once a decision is made\, leaders are expected to support it publicly for the unity of the community. \nIV. Unacceptable Behavior (Neprihvatljivo Ponašanje) \nThe following behaviors are considered violations of this Code of Conduct: Harassment\, bullying\, or discrimination based on age\, gender\, background\, regional origin (e.g.\, Dalmatia\, Slavonia\, Istria\, etc.)\, or any other characteristic. Using slurs\, epithets\, or excessively aggressive language. Sharing confidential information outside of the meeting context without authorization. Any act that endangers the safety or well-being of another participant. \n\n\n

SUMMARY:Ice House Fundraiser for Josip Brusić
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun and family-friendly Ice House Fundraiser supporting Josip Brusić — a dedicated Canadian skeleton athlete on his journey to the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. \nThis special session offers participants a chance to experience the thrill of pushing a skeleton sled\, the explosive start of a skeleton race. The Ice House is a world-class facility where athletes train to perfect their push technique without completing the full track. \nEach participant will get several turns on the sled\, with each run (there and back) lasting about 30–60 seconds. The session will be led by a Skeleton Canada coach\, Josip\, and additional helpers to ensure a fun and safe experience for all. \nWe’ll wrap up the day with a friendly race featuring different age groups\, and prizes will be awarded to the winners! \n\nMeet Josip Brusić\nBorn in Rijeka\, Croatia\, Josip moved to Canada in 2014 and discovered skeleton three years ago through his track and field coach’s recommendation. He quickly fell in love with the sport while training in Whistler and has since made remarkable progress: \n\nNamed to the Canadian National Team in his second year\nRepresented Canada in international competitions\nBecame Canadian Champion\, successfully defending his title in 2024/25\n\nNow entering his first Olympic season\, Josip is competing in selection races across North America and Korea as he pursues his dream of qualifying for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games.\nAll proceeds from this event will go toward supporting Josip’s training\, travel\, and competition expenses during this crucial season. \n\nWho Can Join\n\nAll ages welcome!\nParticipants must be 3 years or older to slide.\nFee: $25 per person\nKids under 16 attend free!\n\n\nWhat to Bring\nThe Ice House requires that all skin be covered and helmets worn during participation.\nPlease bring: \n\nLong-sleeved top and full-length pants\nThin gloves\nHelmet (bike or ski helmets are acceptable)\n\nWe will provide: helmets (if needed)\, specialized shoes\, and sleds. \n\nArrival Time\nPlease arrive 30 minutes early (by 11:00 AM) to allow time for gear fitting and orientation before the session begins.
